LSAT Teacher - Patrick Tyrrell

Patrick Tyrrell is an LSAT natural, scoring a 172 the first time he ever looked at the test. He had no intention of going to law school at the time, having just moved to LA from DC in order to pursue his rock and roll dreams. Instead, he got a job as an LSAT instructor for Another Test Prep Company, posted a 178 on the official test, and discovered how much he loved teaching.

Patrick studied Philosophy at University of Maryland, hoping to logically justify a belief in morality and to devise some plausible way of believing that death is not the end of all consciousness. He failed on both counts. However, he got a lot of practice reading and deconstructing dense ideas, a skill set that would serve him well in the world of the LSAT.

As he continues to spend his days writing and recording music in his home studio, Patrick hopes to transfer his LSAT prowess to people who can actually use it. The LSAT is a test that rewards even-tempered judgments and punishes exaggeration and speculation. As his students develop their "LSAT brain", Patrick delights in seeing the way the test changes the way they think and speak.

Feedback from Patrick's Recent Students

Patrick is an excellent tutor.  He has tutored me three times, and each time I learn salient master strategies, and how they apply to the questions at hand.  He is also friendly and has a good sense of humor which makes him easy to communicate with.--Tutoring Student, 2012

Has a strong, recognizable grasp of the logic of the exam and logic of individual questions. Focuses students in on that logic. Very helpful.Great at explaining logic games, especially in situations where certain games didn't follow any set "type. " --Student, Live Online Summer 2011

Patrick was also good at challenging us, and he kept the class interesting--Student, Live Online Summer 2011
