A student of mine had a great set-up for this game, and I figured I'd post it here. He quickly inferred that there must be at least 4 messages.

I added the J cloud, which is obviously a somewhat odd rule to add into the diagram. I always try to put the rule IN the diagram if possible, not outside, where I'm likely to forget it.
