The "dumb kids" actually want to be lawyers. Just because you score in the 150s does mean that you are not fit to practice law. The 170s scorers have perhaps in the past believed that law must be something they will enjoy simply because they did well on the test. Law schools need to take a hint from medical schools and actually interview applicants to weed the "smart" but totally clueless candidates who have not thought long and hard about why they want to be a lawyer for the right reasons to continue this trend after the economy has recovered.

Yes! Some of us want to help people and feel being a lawyer will allow us to do that more effectively, like by being able to sue the pants off of a gov't agency who services are motivated by a philosophy that says it's poor people's fault they are poor! Thanks, this message that going to law school has fewer insanely lucrative rewards is irrelevant because that's not why I am busting my ass every day.

I think this article is rediculous. I myself scored in the 150's and I'm offended that this is considered "dumb". I have a biochemistry degree and have passed the patent bar to become a practicing patent agent who is trying to get into law school to become a patent attorney. I think that the LSAT scores are not the only factor into getting into law schools. For myself, my future law career is still a thriving practice, and I take offense that people like myself arent being considered in this one sided article.

Couldn't it be also that the recent LSAT are just getting harder so less people are scoring in the 170s?

W, you nailed it! And, I’d grant you 3 wishes, but I’ve noticed that usually they backfire in the movies, so instead, I’m mailing you a hookah-smoking caterpillar.
